Data protection statement

Hauff-Technik UK Limited, represented by the Managing Directors Thomas Kölle and Jan Holly, Units 1 & 2, Carrwood Road, Chesterfield, S41 9QB UK (Hauff-Technik), takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. Compliance with statutory provisions, such as the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG, Bundesdatenschutzgesetz), as well as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) and the Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), is a matter of course for us.

1. What is personal data?

Personal data is information that can be used to determine your identity. This includes your name, address, e-mail address, IP address or telephone number. It does not include information that a browser uses to access our content on a server.

2. Does Hauff-Technik collect personal data?

Hauff-Technik only collects the personal data required for purposes for which you have given us permission.    

We request personal data if you make an enquiry about our products or receive a quotation. In such cases, we at least require your e-mail address. Additional information is required if you order products online and we are to deliver products to you or facilitate a download for you. You can, however, visit all areas of our website without disclosing personal data. Should you subscribe to our newsletter, you will receive information and offers concerning our products and those of our partners. We will not pass your address onto third parties. Opening and clicking behaviours are sometimes recorded. This data is stored separately from personal data. In all other respects, we refer to your rights as these are stipulated in Section 8.

We shall only use the information you provide to process the order and in order to inform you in future about other similar offers, including by e-mail. We will not pass any information onto unauthorised third parties.

3. What happens to the stored personal data?

We will only pass stored e-mail addresses onto third parties when instructed to do so by the police or state prosecution service or if we have been provided with a written or electronic declaration of consent. Other personal data that you disclose to us in association with the ordering of products, quotations or downloads is stored on protected computers in Germany. We use the data exclusively for purposes that you approve and are aware of in advance.

All employees of Hauff-Technik are bound to confidentiality pursuant to Section 5 BDSG (if applicable) and Art. 29 UK GDPR. We have taken technical and organisational measures as defined by Section 9 BDSG (if applicable) and Section 5 I f) UK GDPR to protect your data and also ensure that our partners take the appropriate measures to maintain data security. If, however, you are redirected to other websites via links on our Internet pages, we cannot control how your data is managed. We do, however, take steps to ensure that all of our partners maintain the same level of data protection as us and take the necessary measures (technical and organisational).

4. What are cookies?

We use cookies to optimise the Internet presence of Hauff-Technik. Cookies are small text files that can be stored on a website visitor's hard drive. They allow you to personalise the settings on the website. We also use cookies to analyse the use of the websites in an anonymised or pseudonymised form. In some circumstances, this data can be enriched with additional demographic data (e. g. age and gender) during online surveys. You will also be made aware of this separately during the online survey. You can use our website without cookies but you will not be able to use every function. Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. However, you can deactivate the saving of cookies or set your browser to inform you as soon as cookies are sent. Cookies are not programs which means that they cannot cause damage. You can automatically delete cookies by choosing "Disable cookies" or can prevent cookies from being stored on your hard drive by using "Accept no cookies" in your browser settings. This may cause functional limitations when visiting the Internet page. Cookies which are required to perform the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions you require (e. g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 I letter f) UK GDPR. Hauff-Technik has a justified interest in storing cookies in order to provide its services optimally without technical errors. If other cookies (e. g. cookies for the analysis of your web surfing activities) are stored, these shall be covered separately in this privacy statement.

5. Use of Matomo and cooperation with service providers

This website uses Matomo, a webs analysis service.

Matomo uses cookies that are stored on the hard drive of your computer and that are accessed by Matomo when you visit our website so that we can analyse how you use our website through your computer. Cookies of this kind allow us in particular to record the page that your browser accesses and the page accessed before this, thus facilitating the creation of profiles relating to the use of our website by your computer. Matomo also collects the IP address of your computer in this connection. However, this is anonymised during the saving process in accordance with the specifications of German data protection supervision. The Matomo software runs on our own servers in Germany, so Hauff-Technik has full control over user data.

The cookies are evaluated to analyse where the visitors to our website come from and what activities they carry out on our website. We use these analyses for the purposes of advertising, and market research and in order to improve our services. Storage and processing is carried out on our behalf by Matomo. In this respect, Matomo has undertaken to store and process the data exclusively on servers in the European Union, except in technical emergencies. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

Matomo will then place a special opt-out cookie on your computer. This cookie does not contain values suitable for the formation of a usage profile; it only allows Matomo to detect the issued objection and prevents Matomo from saving data to the server with the aim of creating a profile. As described above, you can also stop cookies being saved to your hard drive altogether.

Please note that we use the personal data received for the purpose of your application only; under no circumstances do we hand over the data to unauthorised third parties for advertising or other purposes.

Furthermore, we only save your personal data for the duration of the application process, unless statutory provisions require retention of the data for longer or you yourself allow us to save the data, for example in order to be able to consider you for future vacancies.

We regard the legal basis for data processing as your consent under Article 6 Paragraph 1 a) in conjunction with Article 4 Section 11 UK GDPR and also Article 6 Paragraph 1 b) UK GDPR.

As such, you naturally enjoy the rights referred to in Sections 8 and 9 of this data protection statement as well as the right of access under Article 15 UK GDPR, the right to rectification under Article 16 UK GDPR, and your rights to data portability under Article 20 UK GDPR, subject to the limitations of §§ 34, 35 German Federal Data Protection Act – new version (BDSG-neu).

6. Liability

Hauff-Technik assumes no responsibility or liability for the offers of third-party websites. We do, however, take steps anyway to ensure that our partners consider data protection guidelines that our comparable to our own.

Hauff-Technik assumes no liability for the content of external links.

7. Log files

For every request, access data is stored in a log file, the server log. The stored data set contains the following data:

  • Your IP address (which can be used to uniquely identify your computer),
  • The remote host (name and IP address of the computer requesting the site),
  • The time, status, volume of data transmitted and the website you used to access the requested site (referrer)
  • The product and version information of the browser being used (user agent).

8. Right of objection  /erasure

You can revoke your permission to use your personal data in the future at any time. To do so you must provide valid proof that you are the data owner. To exercise this right of revocation, simply send an e-mail to datenschutz@wieseundwiese.de.We will then process the revocation immediately. In this case, we will include your personal data on our "advertising blacklist" in order to make sure that you do not receive any advertising in the future. If you expressly request that we delete your data, this can also be done, although in this case we cannot ensure that you will not receive any advertising if we purchase new address lists.

9. Right to be provided with information

In accordance with Section 34 BDSG, Art. 15, 12 UK-DSGVO you have a right to be provided with information. Hauff-Technik will only withhold information on the origin and recipients of the data if the need for protection of company secrecy has priority over the subject's need for information.

You may request information on the data stored concerning your person at any time and free of charge. The disclosure is made immediately according to data protection provisions and contains your saved data, including to the extent that they relate to the origin of this data, the recipient or categories of recipients to whom the data is disclosed and the purpose of the storage.
